Carola started her 25th anniversary celebrations by performing a Cabaret inspired version of "Mitt i ett äventyr" in the charity gala "Våra eldsjälar" in the Globe Arena last night.

Happy New Year to all the friends of Carola International.

2007 has been another great year for the Carola International website. We didn't quite match the same number of hits on the site as last year, but that was not expected since Carola had such a big year 2006 with the win in the Swedish Song Contest and the participation in Eurovision Song Contest. But, compared to any other year, 2007 marked a big increase of visitors with close to 137,000 hits. Early next year we expect to have had half a million visitors to the site since we started counting...

We continued to deliver Breaking News about Carola, often before media and even the official Carola website.

We were the first to reveal that Carola was to perform in Misión Eurovisión - the Spanish Song Contest, and were quoted on news sites all over Europe.

We gave you information about the the new album "I denna natt blir världen ny" (tracklisting, release dates, and audio) before anyone else.

This year we expanded the Carola International website with a newsletter and a MySpace page (thanks to Nikola Jovic). The newsletter has a constantly growing number of subscribers from all over the world, and the MySpace page has just begun to receive its first "friends".

Through the help of fans we have been able to provide photos from concerts and spread information about TV-performances and other events. THANK YOU all for helping out! Keep those emails coming!

When Swedish newspaper Expressen ranks the ten most popular Swedish entertainers of 2007, Carola is listed as no 8.

"I appreciate that. I feel like I have had a somewhat peaceful year."

In the interview, Carola mentions that she will soon reveal her plans for her 25th anniversary in 2008.

According to Universal Music, Carola's new Christmas album "I denna natt blir världen ny - Jul i Betlehem II" has sold close to 90.000 copies since its November release.

Tonight the Christmas tour "Jul i Betlehem" comes to a close with two concerts in Stavanger, Norway. Carola will have a couple of private concerts around Christmas and we will see her on Swedish and Norwegian TV during the holidays.

With two concerts in Filadelfiakyrkan in Stockholm last night, Carola ended her Swedish leg of the ongoing Christmas tour. Tonight she performs two concerts in Reykjavik, Iceland and on Friday two concerts in Stavanger, Norway.

Tonight, Christoffer Hiding from "Idol" will join Carola at her two concerts at Filadelfiakyrkan in Stockholm. It was originally planned that they would sing "Go Tell it On the Mountain" as a duet, but now they are discussing other songs. Christoffer will also perform "Decembernatt" (Swedish version of "Halelujah") solo.

Carola's marathon of Christmas concerts has started. In five days, she will perform nine concerts in Sweden, Iceland, and Norway! Yesterday, she performd in Ryttargårdskyrkan in Linköping. The local newspaper Corren writes this about the concert:

"Carola shows us that she has an amazing voice in songs like "Mariavisa" and "I denna natt blir världen ny". As the concert goes on, the gospel music becomes more prominent, and at the end the audience stands up to sing along in "Härlig är jorden".

If you religious, this is most likely the Christmas concert of all Christmas concerts. For the rest of us it is beautiful songs performed by a bright shining star, an equally talented choir and pianist."

Carola will perform at the "Våra eldsjälar" concert in the Globe Arena in Stockholm on December 30. The show will air live at TV 4. Other artists to perform include Pet Shop Boys, Martin Stenmarck, Jonas Gardell, Louise Hoffsten, Jill Johnson and, and "Idol" judge Kishti Tomita. Hosts are Peter Jihde and Agneta Sjödin.

Carola will be a guest on the radio show "Äntligen Morgon" with Adam Alsing and Gry Forsell on Mix Megapol on Monday December 17. The show airs 6.00-10.00 am.

On December 19 (with a re-run on December 25) Swedish TV3 will air the concert "Carola: Jul i Bethlehem" which is a live concert from this year. It is not clear if it is the same concert that airs on Norwegian TV2 (from Kulturkirken Jakob) or another concert. More info to come...

Carola will be performing songs from the album "I denna natt blir världen ny" on TV4's "Nyhetsmorgon" on Saturday December 15. The show starts at 8.59 am.

Liza Minnelli collapsed on stage after performing only a few songs at Scandinavium in Gothenburg last night. Her management has decided to cancel her two shows in Copenhagen on December 14-15.

Liza Minnelli has not received very favorable reviews for her participation on the mini tour "A Classic Christmas Night" with Carola and Jan Malmsjö.

Carola is a guest in the morning radio show "P4 Premiär" on Sunday. The program's website writes this about their guest:

"Our guest is no one less that Sweden's favorite singer, who these days also is Liza Minnelli's personal favorite"

Don't miss "Carolas Betlehem" on Norwegian TV2 tonight at 9.45pm.

"I denna natt blir världen ny" did not make it on the Svensktoppen chart. The song was one of five songs that tried to break into the chart this week, but did not make it.

Carola's testimony to the police men investigating a man accused for raping a girl led to his arrest according to Aftonbladet. Eight years ago, Carola comforted a girl who said the man (a singer that Carola worked with at the time) had raped her. Now, Carola might testify in court in the case against the man.

The new season of the popular game show "Så ska det låta" starts on February 29 next year. On SVT's website, Carola and Andreas Johnson are listed as guests on show no 3 which will then air on March 14.

Last night was the first of four concerts of "A Classic Christmas Night" with Carola, Liza Minnelli, Jan Malmsjö and Michael Nyqvist. Expressen's Anders Nunstedt loved Carola's part of the show:

"But it is Carola that delivers the quality. She sings passionate gospel versions of her hit songs, and beautiful Christmas songs. She even keeps the balance in U2's 'Pride'.
The evening belongs to Carola..."

Jens Peterson from Aftonbladet agrees that Carola is the brightest shining star of the evening:

"The evening is saved when Liza Minnelli walks off stage and brings Carola on stage, and talk about what an amazingly talented and beautiful singer Carola is".
