Even though no song by Andreas Johnson/Peter Kvint was presented at the press conference yesterday where 28 of the songs for the 2008 Swedish Song Contest were announced, the rumors that Carola and Andreas Johnson will perform a duet together is not going away.

In the newspapers in Sweden today, it is believed that they will be announced as "wildcards" later this year...

Carola will be a guest on the talkshow "Babben & Co" on SVT1, Saturday December 1 at 8.30pm.

Out of the 28 songs that were presented for the Swedish Song Contest at a press conference yesterday, none were written by Andreas Johnson/Peter Kvint. This can have three different explanations; Either there were no truth to the rumors about a song being submitted by these composers, or the song was not selected, or the song will be presented later as a wildcard.

Later today, we might be closer to know if there is any truth to the rumors that Carola will participate in the 2008 Swedish Song Contest. Recent rumors claims that Carola will perform a duet with Andreas Johnson, with a song composed by Andreas Johnson and Peter Kvint.

At 4.10pm today (Swedish local time) 28 songs that will compete in the Swedish Song Contest next year will be revealed. The last four songs (wildcards) will be announced later this year.

As Carola International reported on October 10, there are rumors that Carola will participate in the Swedish Song Contest next year, performing a duet with Andreas Johnson. The song is, according to these rumors, written by Andreas Johnson and Peter Kvint.

This is how the Eurovision Song Contest website ESC Today reports on the rumors:

"As one of the most hotly anticipated national selection events by fans, Sweden’s Melodifestivalen is no stranger to rumors and hype in tabloids at home and beyond. The latest of these, suggested by recent reports in Expressen, place Swedish superstar Carola together with two-time Melodifestivalen contestant Andreas Jonsson, in a possible duet for Belgrade."

Other performers that are rumored to participate are: Darin, Måns Zelmerlöw, Mikael Rickfors, Ola, Shirley Clamp, Sonja Aldén, Sanna Nielsen, Sara Löfgren, Style etc (Source: Expressen).

Swedish newspaper Expressen writes today that Carola has submitted a duet with Andreas Johnson for the Swedish Song Contest 2008. The song is written by Andreas Johnson and Peter Kvint (who wrote Andreas' songs "Sing For Me", 2006, and "A Little Bit of Love", 2007). Peter Kvint's only response is "No comments".

The same article claims that Carola and Andreas Johnson will appear in the next season of SVT's "Så ska det låta". There might be an official statement next week.

The documentary on the making of the upcoming Christmas album in Bethlehem will air on Swedish TV4 on December 3, 8.00pm.

On Saturday September 22, Carola performed at the Pentecostal European Centennial at Oslo Spektrum. The Christian conference lasted for a week, and was visited by the Norwegian crown prince Haakon.

"The love of God has changed my life. He is faithful to us even we are not faithful to him. I didn't have a bad life before I became a christian, I had great parents and was a happy person, but I got a bonus in God. Even more victory".

Carola sang several songs, and finished with "To God Be the Glory".

In November, Carola will perform at City Harvest Church in Singapore.

In an interview with the Swedish Christian newspaper Dagen, Carola confirms that she will visit Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark on her upcoming Christmas tour.

Besides from the three concerts in Oslo (November 21-23), no other tour dates have yet been announced.

Swedish TV4 has recorded the making of the upcoming Christmas album, and the documentary will air in the beginning of December. The program will also include two full-length music videos, and short clips from other songs.

Christmas concerts in Norway has been announced. During November 21-23, Carola will give three concerts in Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo. Tickets are already on sale.

As Carola International reported on August 30, Carola is in Bethlehem to record a music video and do a photo shoot for the album cover. In interviews with Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen, Carola talks about the album and the Christmas tour.

"We have worked with oriental instruments and an oriental singer that my producer found in Baku"

The album that is scheduled to be released in the middle of November includes, besides from the traditional Christmas songs, a political comment on the situation in the region. The song is called "I denna natt".

"Nothing bad has happened here in a long time - but one has to know what places not to go to (...) Maybe I should arrange pilgrimage here, for my most loyal audience. Wouldn't that be something?"

What was first announced as a large scale Scandinavian Christmas tour, Carola now calls a few intimate concerts in churches. Plus of course the concerts planned with Liza Minnelli.

"I will go to meet her somewhere in Europe in a few weeks (...) She's a great entertainer that is dramatic and has that extra something. It will be a fantastic experience, I am incredibly flattered."

Carola again mentions that there are plans to record another Christmas album for release next year. This time in English.

Liza Minnelli is scheduled to perform four Christmas concerts in Sweden in December. The concerts are called "A Classic Christmas Night" and will visit Stockholm and Gothenburg.

According to Swedish papers today, Carola has agreed to perform the same concerts.
