Happy New Year to all of you from Carola International.

2006 has been a remarkable year for the Carola International website. Every year we experience an increase in the number of hits on the site, and in 2006 the number of visitors increased by more than 106% to 180.000+ (around 15.000 visitors per month). The most hits were in the month of May when Carola competed in the Eurovision Song Contest. Then we had 30.024 hits (an increase by 243% from May 2005).

During the year, we have given you Breaking News about Carola before any other media outlet. We gave you the release date of the singles "Evighet", "Invincible" and the promo "Stanna eller gå".

We were the first ones to reveal the album cover and tracklisting for most of Carola's releases during 2006 including the platinum selling album "Från nu till evighet" and the duet with the Williams Brothers "Bridge of Love".

When Carola was scheduled to perform in Montenegro, we were the ones to break the news and later provide an exclusive report of her trip. More recently we revealed most tour dates of spring 2007 before anyone else!

In early 2006, the official Carola website contacted us to get permission to use the information and photos from our discography on their site, and the contacts at Universal Music have been helpful with information throughout the year.

When Carola thanked Carola International as "the fans' own website" on the cover of the album "Från nu till evighet", we got very happy and proud. Because this website wouldn't be doing so well if it wasn't for all of you…

Through the help of fans we have been able to provide photos from concerts and spread information about TV-performances and other events. Thank you all for helping out! Keep those emails coming!

Ticnet.se has listed the tickets for the two concerts in Sundsvall March 16 & 17. The price is somewhat different than earlier reported. The concert on March 16 is listed to begin at 7.30 pm instead of 7.00 pm as earlier indicated.

The stage show "Showtime" in Lindvallen celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The show consists of young talented singers who performs as other famous artists. Yesterday as Helena Strutz performed "Evighet" dressed like Carola, the real thing came on stage to sing with her. Carola was a secret guest and sat in the audience next to the owner of the restaurant Anders Sessler and enjoyed the show. According to reports she especially enjoyed the heavy metal medley.

Carola will be the first artist to perform in Visby's new congress hall "Wisby Strand" as it opens on April 14 2007. The celebration of the opening of the hall will go on for two days and will be free of charge for the public.

According to a recent interview, Carola will be travelling frequently to Israel in 2007 to record the follow-up album to the 1999 "Jul i Betlehem". Carola has for years talked about recording an English version of her hugely successful Christmas album with international artists as guest vocalists. Check back for more updates...

Now the nominees for the Swedish music prize Rockbjörnen have been announced, and sadly Carola was not nominated in any of the categories!

Carola will give two concerts in the EFS church she sponsored in Ängelholm. The concerts are planned for Saturday February 10 at 7.30 pm and Sunday February 11 at 4.00 pm.

Tickets go on sale on Monday December 11 and are sold through Ängelholm tourist bureau.

Carola is in Puerto Rey in Columbia to perform "Jag ger allt" in the charity event "Faddergalan" tomorrow night. These photos are taken when Carola visited an orphanage and from a rehearsal.

Carola is one of the famous Swedish people that now great travellers at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm. Next to the photo from the Swedish Song Contest 2006 it says: "Welcome to my hometown - Carola, pop princess".

Carola was mysteriously overlooked in the Swedish Grammy nominations. The winner of the Swedish Song Contest, with a platinum selling album did not recieve any nomintations for next year's award show.

Carola's "Evighet" is included on the new 2xCD "Hits 2006". The album holds 42 hits and includes: "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" with Sciccor Sisters and "Promiscous" with Nelly Furtado. The album is expected to enter the Swedish album chart for compilations this week. Link: Buy album

Swedish commercial radio Mix Megapol conducts a poll finding the most popular song of 2006. The 16 songs that recieves the most votes will go to the final round. Carola is nominated with both "Evighet" and "Invincible".
