tonight: Alla tiders Melodifestival |
Don't miss "Alla tiders Melodifestival" on TV tonight,
where Carola receives the new award "Sångfågeln"
for winning the Swedish Song Contest in 1983 and 1991.
The show also includes new versions of the 10 most popular songs
from the Swedish Song Contest. Carola will sing "Waterloo"
in a duet with Marit Bergman. Sophie Rimheden & Håkan
Lidbo will perform "Främling" (1983), and Mendez
will perform "Fångad av en stormvind" (1991).
The show airs tonight at SVT1 8.00pm. Hosts are Kattis Ahlström
och Christer Björkman.

Concerts
in the US? |
Robert
Wells is planning concerts in the US this fall. The classically
trained pianist has created a unique mix between classical music
and rock'n'roll. When asked what guest artists he would like
to invite to this US tour, he answered Carola (among others).
No confirmation still.

CD
release: "Svenska musikalfavoriter" |

Universal Music released the double disc "Svenska
musikalfavoriter" on March 31. The album includes
Carolas 1995 recording "Det bästa jag vet"
from the musical "Sound of Music". The album
also includes "Edelweiss" from the same musical,
performed by Tommy Körberg.

Tour
in Sweden: Rix FM Festival |
Carola
will play live in Sweden this summer. She is one of the artists
touring with Rix FM Festival, that will tour between May 19
and August 27 and visit 17 cities. Other artists are Christian
Walz, Shirley Clamp and Nanne Grönwall.
Carola will tour in Norway from July 1, so it's not clear how
many concerts on the Rix FM Festival she can participate in.

Carola was a real surprise guest at Radio Rix FM's "Rix
MorgonZoo" show on Thursday morning. Carola passed the
host Gert Fylking with her car in Stockholm and offered him
a ride to the studio, he invited her up and she brought the
single "Genom allt" with her...

Melodifestivalen 2005 / Melodifestivalen 50 år - Vinnarna |
Today,
two Carola related DVD's are released in Sweden.
"Melodifestivalen
2005" which includes Carolas performance of her
coming single "Genom allt" from the intermission of
the Swedish Song Contest finale 2005. The DVD also includes
backstage footage from the finale in the Globe Arena, and from
the after party.
"Melodifestivalen
50 år - Vinnarna" that includes both the
1983 performance of "Främling" and the 1991 performance
of "Fångad av en stormvind
In addition we can mention that the DVD "Melodifestivalen
50 år - Favoriter", that was released on February
9 is still the no 1 selling music DVD in Sweden.

Strømmestiftelsen fund raiser |
Yesterday (March 28), "TV2's artistgalla" aired on
Norwegian TV2. The show was a fund raiser for Norwegian foundation
Strømmestiftelsen. Carola was one of the performing artists,
and opened the show. Other performing artists included Sissel
Kyrkjebø, Peter Jöback, Silje Nergård, Heine
Totland, Espen Lind, and The Monroes.
The show was hosted by Katrine Moholt and was recorded on March
15.

CD:
Alla tiders Melodifestival |
The CD "Alla tiders Melodifestival" is released in
Sweden on April 13. The CD contains the new versions of ten
of the most popular songs from the Swedish Song Contest, as
they are performed at the TV-show "Alla tiders Melodifestival"
that airs on SVT1 on April 8.
The first single off the album will be Carolas 1983 winner,
"Främling", performed by Sofie Rimheden and Håkan
Lidbo (see photo above), released on April 11.
