The single "Just The Way You Are" is released.
JUNE 1
Carola performs the last show (no 429) of "The Sound Of
Music" at Göta Lejon in Stockholm.
Carola never cancelled or called in sick.
JUNE 18
The greatest hits tour kicks off in Jönköping. Some of the concerts
she teams up with Earth, Wind & Fire, Johnny Cash or Steve
Lukather. 20 concerts.
AUGUST 9
The last day of the tour. Two concerts; one at Stockholm Water
Festival in Stockholm, Sweden and one in Wasa, Finland.
The tour wasn't very succsessful and one concert was even cancelled
due to poor ticket sales.
AUGUST 19
Carola goes to USA to start working on her next pop album.
OCTOBER 5
Barncancerfonden (Child Cancer Fundation) holds an auction at
NK, Stockholm, for which 11 Swedish celebrities (Carola, Carl
Bildt, Mona Sahlin, Lasse Åberg, Jessica Zandén etc) created
a "Winnie the Pooh" art piece.
OCTOBER 13
Swedish tv channel TV3 airs "Ett härligt liv" (A Wonderful
Life) with Carola.
OCTOBER 24
Carola performs at a Red Cross fund raiser, where tv viewers
can call in to talk to her for 9.70 SEK / minute (approx 97c
/ minute). 7000 called in 5 minutes.
NOVEMBER 19
The double album "Det Bästa Av Carola" and the single
"Dreamer" are released.
NOVEMBER
Carola performs in "Stjärnklart" (Star bright) with
Peter Jöback, Lill Lindfors and Jerry Williams etc.
DECEMBER 4
"Det Bästa Av Carola" enters at no 45 on the Swedish
albums charts. It peaks at no 40 (Dec 12) and stays on the chart
for 5 weeks.
